Guide to Siargao Island PHILIPPINES

Siargao island in the Philippine Sea situated 800 kilometers southeast of Manila in the province of Surigao del Norte. It has a land area of approximately 437 square kilometres (169 sq mi). The east coast is relatively straight with one deep inlet, Port Pilar. The coastline is marked by a succession of reefs, small points and white, sandy beaches.

The island is composed of municipalities of Burgos, Dapa, Del Carmen, General Luna, San Benito, Pilar, San Isidro, Santa Monica and Socorro. Siargao Island contains the largest mangrove forest reserves in Mindanao, at Del Carmen.

Siargao is known as the “Surfing Capital of the Philippines”, but you don't need to be a surfer to enjoy the beautiful scenery and natural attractions on the island..

How to get there:
Can be reached via a direct domestic flight from Manila to Surigao City and then by a ferry to the coastal towns of Dapa or Del Carmen in Siargao Islands. Now, Cebu Pacific has a daily flight from Cebu-Siargao.

from Cebu to Siargao Island in a small plane via Cebu Pacific Airways. Once there, it’s easy to transfer on a shuttle to General Luna, the island’s main surf-town.
