Sablayan is located in the central part of Occidental Mindoro. It is bounded to the north by the municipality of Santa Cruz and the municipalities of Baco, Naujan, Victoria and Socorro all in Oriental Mindoro province; to the east by the municipalities of Pinamalayan, Gloria, Bansud, Bongabong and Mansalay also in Oriental Mindoro; to the south by the municipality of Calintaan; and to the west by the Mindoro Strait.

BUS from Alabang/Cubao, ride RoRobuses going to Batangas port to San Jose also stop at Sablayan.
BOAT from Batangas Port, you need to ride a RoRo (roll on/roll off) going to Port of Abra de Ilog. You can either choose Montenegro or Balino Shipping Lines. The travel time usually takes for a about 3 hours.
From Sampaloc, Manila, also have air-conditioned Dimple Star Buses that go to San Jose, Occidental Mindoro passing in Sablayan, fare to Sablayan.
BOAT (Puerto Galera route) – There are limited scheduled trips in Balatero Port (Puerto Galera) route to Abra de Ilog. If coming from White Beach, take a tricycle ride going to Balatero Port, and upon arrival, you can directly purchase the boat ticket and sail straight to Abra de Ilog (schedule is limited – morning and noon trips only).
PLANE – Book a flight via Cebu Pacific en route to San Jose, Occidental Mindoro and take another bus ride going to Sablayan.
San Jose, Occidental Mindoro is the gateway to Sablayan by air. Cebu Pacific has regular flight to San Jose from Manila, travel time takes 45 minutes. From San Jose airport, take a short ride by tricycle to bus terminal, then hop to a bus going to Sablayan, travel time of two-and-a-half to three hours. There are also air-conditioned vans that can be rented from the airport.
