Mayon Volcano or Mount Mayon Philippines Travel Destination

Mayon Volcano or Mount Mayon (Bicolano: Bulkan Mayon, Filipino: Bulkang Mayon) located in the province of Albay in Bicol Region, shared by the eight cities and municipalities of Legazpi City, Daraga, Camalig, Guinobatan, Ligao City, Tabaco City, Malilipot and Santo Domingo (clockwise from Legazpi), which divide the cone like slices of a pie when viewing a map of their political boundaries.

Mayon Volcano or Mount Mayon renowned as the "perfect cone" because of its symmetric conical shape, the volcano with its surrounding landscape and was reclassified a Natural Park and renamed as the Mayon Volcano Natural Park in 2000. The volcano is the centerpiece of the Albay Biosphere Reserve, declared by UNESCO in 2016.

How to Get to Mayon Volcano:

By Air: Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific and Airphil Express have daily regular flights from Manila and Cebu to Legazpi City.

By Bus: From Manila several bus lines to Legazpi City including Philtranco, Superlines, DLTB, Cagsawa Tours, Amihan, Isarog Line, St. Jude Transit and Goldline Tours. Travel time is approximately 10 to 12 hours depending on traffic.

By Train: Through Bicol Express operated by the Philippine National Railways. Trips are available daily from Tutuban, Manila to Naga City at 6:30 in the afternoon, the return trip also leaves at 6:30 pm.
